University of Valladolid Faculty of Commerce to host II International TIMMIS Congress

The University of Valladolid (UVa) Faculty of Commerce will, from 20 February at 9 a.m., host the II International TIMMIS Congress on team entrepreneurship and University-Company knowledge transfer, two key aspects developed under the UVa Foreign Trade Department’s European project 0422_TIMMIS_entrepreneurialism_2_E.

The Rector of the University of Valladolid, Antonio Largo, will open this meeting together with the Dean of the UVa Faculty of Commerce, José Antonio Salvador Insua, and the President of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (Portugal), Orlando Isidoro Afonso Rodrigues.

The UVa Foreign Trade Department, the organiser of the II International TIMMIS Congress, came into being as the result of a collaboration led by the University of Valladolid and financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Interreg POCTEP Programme in the 2014-20 call. Through the TIMMIS entrepreneurship project it also contributes to meeting various United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for joint development project work, among which is promoting entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, as well fostering the creation of businesses.

The TIMMIS Entrepreneurship project is led by the University of Valladolid in collaboration with the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, the Valladolid Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Business Association of the District of Bragança (NERBA), the Universities and Higher Education Foundation of Castile and León (FUESCyL) and the company Exportun.

Teamwork: the key to successful entrepreneurship

The renowned director and host of the ‘Emprende’ (venture in business) programme on TVE’s 24 Hour Channel, Juanma Romero, will be the Master of Ceremonies for the Congress. Romero has recently been presented the Digital Change Driver award for his great work in communication, mentoring and patronage in the digital economy, to entrepreneurs, SMEs and companies of all kinds.

The agenda of the II International TIMMIS Congress includes a round table discussion on team management as a key tool for undertaking and promoting a business, with the participation of prominent professionals in the sector from Valladolid and Bragança. A selection of TIMMIS teams will then, together with Juanma Romero, present the ideas and business models they worked on as a team during the project.

Congress attendance is free and you can register using the form on the University of Valladolid Foreign Trade Department’s web page, where you can also find more information about the event.
